This is my first year to be participating in the Ultimate Blog party and I'm super excited about finding new blogs and other bloggers finding me!
I'm Lindsay {Hi, Lindsay}.
I'm married to Derek {today is actually our 9 year wedding anniversary!} and we have 4 precious kiddos. Three girls- ages 8, 5, and 2, and 1 little guy who's 8 months {and growing too fast, if you ask me!}.
This is me...without the extra pregnancy weight I can't seem to get rid of after baby #4.

I'm staying home, homeschooling the 2 big ones and, with my hubby, training them up in the way they should go. I've discovered this is not a small or easy job but Because He Gave {hence the blog name} I'm pretty sure we can do this!
We created this blog in December of 2009 to blog our way through Matthew Wests book 101 Simple and Thoughtful Ways to Give This Christmas Away. Our goal was to give Christmas away in at least 25 different ways, or ideas, from the book. It was really cool to see how the Lord used the book to teach and grow us over this past Christmas season! Our hope is that we continue to be open to the ways He would have us give of ourselves to others, even when it's not the holidays.
So, take a look around and join us on this little journey called life!
And, while you're at it {I totally stole this from another blog} we'll play a little game. I'll ask a question. The first commenter answers the question and then leaves a new question for the next commenter. And we'll just keep going.
Make sure and leave your blog address so I can come "meet" you too!
Heres the first question: What's your funniest mom moment ever?

Heres the first question: What's your funniest mom moment ever?
Nice to meet you!! What a beautiful family!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. . . my funniest mom moment . . . . I can think of my most horrible one which involved puke and poop and public. hahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteHope you can stop by to meet me too! http://mary-hess.blogspot.com
My question: What is your favorite sleeping position?
my youngest is 8 months too (until tomorrow) :) love the pictures
ReplyDeleteThis is my first Blog Party also. Your kids are adorable & you don't look old enough to have 4 of them:)
ReplyDeleteStop by & visit!
Oh gosh, don't know about my most funny moment. Too many to count. :) I am a homeschooling mom too...it's nice to "meet" you today!! Your kids are so cute in their matching outfits!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from ubp! Wow, first off I love the tagline of your blog and I love that you blogged through the book about giving Christmas away. I heard about his book on the radio and loved the idea. Also, your kids are cute and I love, love, love how they are all coordinating (visit my party post to see a pic of my family coordinated too)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog concept and everything that you and your family is doing. You just don't know how much your lives will be blessed by doing this. I have become inspired to do the same as much as I can. So glad I stopped by and will be adding you to my favorites!
ReplyDeleteStopping by for the blog party. Nice to meet you. It's my first Ultimate Blog Party, too.
ReplyDeleteHey there!! "You had me at Hello!" Stopped by from the party and I will be back for sure!! I look forward to getting to know you and your beautiful kiddos!! ~Jacki
ReplyDeleteSo for the question..
My favorite sleeping position is on my stomach. I slept on my stomach almost my whole pregnancy (the last time) That is how much I LOVE IT!!
and for my question for the next person who comments...
If you could buy yourself one new item today, what would it be?
Visiting from UBP2010; your family is lovely! I look forward to following you!
ReplyDeleteIf I could buy one new item today, it would be a bathing suit that fits properly! :)
My question for the next commenter is, What time do you go to bed at night?
Glad to stop by your blog from the UBP! I look forward to looking around more. :-)
ReplyDeleteI usually go to bed anywhere between 10 and 12.... :)
New question: What is your favorite song?
I love the give Christmas away idea. I blogged this past Dec. on the "Christmas Conspiracy" and as a family we cut our Christmas spending in half this past Christmas and gave the other half away. I just kept thinking, "What does Jesus really want for His birthday?".
ReplyDeleteOkay, to answer the last comment question: I love the song "Whatever You're Doing" by Sanctus Real and actually used a line of the song to come up with my blog title!
New question: If you had 3 hours today, how would you use them?
I LOVE your blog! Being a stay at home mom to our 3 month old is my dream job too! You have a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite song is How Deep The Father's Love.
New question: What is your favorite book?
Hi, we homeschool too, and wanted to invite you to stop by sometime, and we also have a giveaway going on too. Have fun on the UBP tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog! Happy party week! I look forward to stopping back often.
ReplyDeleteFavorite book: besides the Bible, I'd have to say Stepping Heavenward by Mrs. E Prentis.
New question: What did you want to be when you grew up when you were a child?
I love your blog, and am so glad I stopped by! Thanks for visiting me. I am going to bookmark your site so I can enjoy it even more.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the question: I wanted to be a teacher.
Next question: What is your favorite season of the year?
Your family is beautiful! (And so are you - I don't see any "extra" weight on your face.)
ReplyDeleteI love the concept of how you began your blog. I'm so happy I found you on this corner of the bloggy world.
Hallee

ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say "hi" from the UBP!! You have a beautiful family, and I'm excited to explore your blog a little more! Hope you have a great party week! =)
ReplyDeleteHello from UBP!! You have a precious family!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Lindsay! Your family is absolutely adorable - that's got to be the best picture of 4 little ones I've seen, how in the world did you get them all smiling at the same time? Your blog is amazing, I'm definitely following! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Thanks for stopping by! I'm following!

ReplyDeleteYou having a boy after 3 girls gives me hope...hmmm...Love the clothes from the children's place, by the way. I totally thought of buying the same ones, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteWe have two girls and are a homeschooling family too. Oh, and our girls are 3 years apart too!
I think the most recent question was what is your favorite season, I love everything about spring and fall. Fall is all about pumpkins and apples and beautiful colors...but, everything dies. Spring is all about green and new life and the risen Lord. Too hard to decide!
Hope you can stop by and say hello when you get the chance!
My question would be...what are you hoping to get out of the blog party?
Love the comment game. How fun! I've got an 8 month little guy too - and I agree. The time is going waaaay too fast.
ReplyDeleteAnd to the blog party question, I really want to meet other moms with similar hearts and ideas, plus want to grow my blog traffic a bit. That's not as big a deal though...I just want to connect mostly!
My question - what's your favorite indulgent treat?
Hi, from another homeschool momma here on the UBP! Your children are beautiful. I have two daughters. I hope you can stop by my place (#225): http://tinahollenbeck.blogspot.com/2010/04/2010-ultimate-blog-party.html.
ReplyDeleteCUTE CUTE blog and kiddos! Love that blue and yellow picture!!!
ReplyDeleteI have so enjoyed getting your comments! What a sweetie!
Favorite indulgent treat - Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch!
My question: Blog you MUST visit everyday?
I thought I had commented sometime last week, but I don't see it... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by our blog! I'm interested in book club for The Passionate Housewives but the link you left on our blog didn't work.
